Manuka Honey, produced in the remote green unpolluted forests of New Zealand, has been one of natures best kept secrets.
Scientist Dr Peter Molan has uncovered this secret factor called UMF™ and proven scientifically that it really works. Only honeys labeled UMF™ are guaranteed to contain this special factor.
Abeeco UMF™ Manuka Honey is produced under strict quality regimes and each batch is tested for antibacterial activity.
What can Active UMF manuka honey help with?
Dr Peter Molan*, who has been testing the antibacterial properties of honey for 18 years states, " Active UMF honey has a unique "drawing factor" that soaks liquid and nutrients, which bacteria feed on, out of a wound it is put into. It also painlessly lifts off dead tissue, scab or burnt skin and keeps the wound moist, which aids healing". *
Dr Molan has tested Active UMF honey, to help with many different health ailments. Some of the ones he found this to be most effective with are:
Helicobacter pylori, the bacteria that causes stomach ulcers (1 spoonful on an empty stomach each day), MRSA, the antibiotic resistant bacteria that is the common cause of non-healing wounds, fungal infections, such as those found on the skin and nails - ringworm and athletes foot (minimum concentrations were needed), bacterial diarrhea in infants, burns, wounds and eczema*
As well as this, clinical trials have shown that it is actually superior to the most widely used modern dressing material for the treatment of burns.*

More about Active UMF Manuka Honey
What is Active UMF Manuka Honey?
All honey contains Hydrogen Peroxide, which has a mild antibacterial activity. The Hydrogen peroxide in honey is produced by an enzyme in the honey. This enzyme is destroyed by the exposure of honey to heat and light. As well as this, because most manufacturers heat honey to extract it from the barrel, it can be lost due to this. Active UMF manuka honey contains not just this hydrogen peroxide, but also a 2nd antibacterial agent. This strong agent is stable throughout the entire manufacturing process.
What is UMF and what does it mean?
UMF stands for Unique Manuka Factor. Active UMF Manuka honey is the only honey that has been tested for its antibacterial activity and selected for sale on its level of activity. All honey has some antibacterial factor, but manuka honey contains an additional antibacterial component that is unique to honey produced from Leptospermum or Manuka trees. It is said that these 2 antibacterial components together may have a synergistic action, i.e., their combined effect is greater than the sum of its parts.
Bee relieved capsules contain Glucosamine hydrochloride and bee venom. Our glucosamine capsules contain Glucosamine sulfate only.
To be endorsed by the Honey Research Unit at the University of Waikato as having special uses, Active honey must have a UMF level of no less than 10. Our UMF honey is guaranteed to contain higher than 10% UMF activity.
