Scientists have discovered a new wonder compound: Resveratol. Found naturally in the skin of grapes, it appears to trigger a normally dormant longevity gene. Once triggered, this gene activates the body’s natural genetic defences against diseases. In trials with mice, those given Resveratol supplement were able to run twice as far, and they lived 20 per cent longer.
A potent antioxidant, Resveratol is a compound found in red wine, red grape skin, peanuts, some berries and in it’s most concentrated form in Japanese Knotweed – a traditional herb used in Japanese and Chinese medicine. Abeeco's Resveratol is sourced from Japanese Knotweed (otherwise known as Polygonum cuspidatum).
Resveratol, in combination with the bioflavonoid quercetin and the polyphenols from red wine, activate a family of genes called siruins (“silent information regulator proteins”) which are known as ‘longevity genes’ – protecting and repairing cells and enhancing cellular survival.

Switch on your “longevity genes” and turn back time!

You heard about it on the TV show 60 minutes in January this year……………

What the scientists didn’t mention on 60 minutes was, that while drug companies are now trying to come up with a synthetic version of Resveratol (to justify all the money spent on research), it is already available in New Zealand in its purely natural form!

You may have also seen Dr Oz and Oprah discussing the benefits of Resveratol recently........

Resveratol Benefits

Numerous animal studies and other research results have revealed that Resveratol holds promise against an array of age-associated diseases including;

• Breast and Prostate Cancer,
• Diabetes,
• Cardiovascular diseases,

Research also suggests that Resveratol;

• Assists skin health,
• Improves physical strength and vitality,
• Is a potent antioxidant,
• Assists with joint mobility,

So what is Resveratol?

Resveratol is a compound found in red wine, red grape skin, peanuts, some berries and in it’s most concentrated form in Japanese Knotweed – a traditional herb used in Japanese and Chinese medicine.

How does Resveratol work?

Resveratol, in combination with the bioflavonoid quercetin and the polyphenols from red wine, activate a family of genes called siruins (“silent information regulator proteins”) which are known as ‘longevity genes’ – protecting and repairing cells and enhancing cellular survival.

These ‘longevity genes’ are very rarely activated and only usually kick in under conditions of severe stress (calorie restriction). Once kicked in they then slow the processes that lead to cell death, thereby buying your body more time to wait out the famine until things improve.

Why take Abeeco’s Super Strength Resveratol?

Most experiments/studies on Resveratol use quantities of Resveratol well beyond what you’d be able to get from drinking a lot of wine. This is were supplements come in. Abeeco’s Super Strength Resveratol has double the amount of Resveratol of many leading New Zealand brands which is important to know when comparing suggested quantities and price. Each capsule contains the equivalent Resveratol content of approx 50 bottles of red wine – without all the nasty side affects!

The ‘French Paradox’

Many scientists believe Resveratol is responsible for the ‘French paradox’. The French paradox is the observation that the French suffer a relatively low incidence of coronary heart disease, despite having a diet relatively rich in saturated fats. We all know the French consume a moderate amount of red wine. Red wine is a source of Resveratol.
